Born in Poole, England, Simon Ball is the dynamic and theatrical frontman of Regional One. Renowned for his energetic stage presence and highly interactive performances, Simon began his musical journey as a vocalist during his school years, self-teaching skills in singing, screaming, and rhetoric.

A graduate of the Academy of Contemporary Music with a degree in musical performance (drums), Simon initially focused on crafting song ideas behind the kit. Frustrated by the lack of a vocalist who could fully bring his songs and lyrics to life, he stepped into the role himself. Transitioning from drums to frontman felt natural, and Simon draws inspiration from legendary performers including Freddie Mercury, M. Shadows, and Corey Taylor.

As one of Regional One’s lead songwriters and musical directors, Simon contributes to a collaborative creative process that explores themes ranging from life on the road in a rock band to fantastical dystopian worlds. He places particular emphasis on audience engagement and theatrical elements, shaping songs to translate into powerful live experiences.
